Why weren't these around when I was in high school?!?!?! The fit and finish of the trombone is excellent. There seems to be high quality material used throughout the construction. If held up side by side with a 42BO you would be hard pressed to tell the difference without looking at the bell engravings. The slide action on the trombone is excellent (after a little trombotine of course), and the rotor is pretty efficient. The horn plays pretty much like all of the 42BOs that I've played throughout the years, so nothing is alarming playability wise.

The instrument is so well made that I am curious as to what would justify the almost $1700 difference in price between this horn and the Bach. Of course you don't see any 1972 Jinbaos for sale on eBay, so it hasn't had to stand up to the test of time yet.

The case that comes with the trombone is the standard Jinbao condura case. Its not quite as elegant as the contoured Pro-Tec(I'm tempted to pay the $190 just for the blue velvet interior!), but it does the job. Unfortunately the case isn't designed for a shoulder strap, but it does have backpack straps if that is something you are interested in.

When it is all said and done, this is a great instrument. I know some people would prefer to have the peace of mind of the Bach...but I'm honestly kind of cheap, and this is definitely an adequate alternative.
